A Good Idea

I hired a plumber to help me restore an old farmhouse, and after he had just finished a rough first day on the job: a flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric drill quit and his ancient one ton truck refused to start.

While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence. On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching the tips of the branches with both hands.

When opening the door he underwent an amazing transformation. His tanned face was wreathed in smiles and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.

Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.

"Oh, that's my trouble tree," he replied. "I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure, those troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home and ask God to take care of them. Then in the morning I pick them up again." "Funny thing is," he smiled," when I come out in the morning to pick 'em up, there aren't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before."

THANK YOU JESUS

Hello to everyone.. Sorry once again for not posting in awhile. Its been crazy. I wanted to write a post about how awesome God is. The past 3 months God has been completely blowing my mind. Everytime I am in church God keeps outdoing himself. Its amazing. Since January 1 this year we have had 22 people get baptized, and at least 15 receive the precious gift of the Holy Ghost.

Well, todays blog is not just about what God is doing in my church ,but also, what he is doing in my family. This weekend Me, Adam, and our Youth Group went to a Winter Youth Church camp. My cousin, Mark who is 14(He is who is in the picture above with Bro. Sargeant), who lives in Porterville, and doesnt attend church, heard about camp. HE WANTED TO GO SOOO BAD. He did everything that he could to make sure that he was able to go. Well....on Saturday night service, God moved in the service. Young people from all over the Central Valley, were in deep consecration with God. It has to be on of the most powerful youth services I have ever been in. The young people were so lost in the Holy Ghost, it was amazing. As I was going around praying with others, I kept my cousin in my prayers. I looked around and he was sitting on the front row very reverently. Well, the service begin to die down, and all of the sudden I see Mark heading for Adam. I was thinking what is he doing?? I watched, as Mark walked right up to Adam, and put his head on his shoulder. At this point, I begin to cry and seek after God. I wanted Mark to receive the Holy Ghost so bad. A heavy burden began to settle on me, I knew God was going to do a work.

For about 30 minutes Adam just prayed with Mark, and then all of the sudden Mark began to weep and let God take care of all of his problems. At this point, I felt as if God said...Misti go and pray with him. As I walked up to the group of people praying with him...I looked and there was Mark being filled with the Holy Ghost. I could not believe what God had done. I didnt care what anyone in the place thought.... I began to shout all over the place. When I looked once again....Mark was laying on the floor and just worshiping God with all his heart. He was like this for about 20 minutes. He didnt care the most people were done praying. He just wanted more of what he was feeling.

Many of you dont know what kind of miracle this is. Mark has no clue about church or the Holy Ghost. When he was younger he came to Sunday school on Sunday mornings for about 6 months. That is all that he knows about the church and the Holy Ghost. To see someone who has no idea what the Holy Ghost can do, and they receive it, is amazing. After he finished praying, Adam explained to him what had happened to him, and now he is going to be Baptized in the Name of Jesus Christ this next Sunday morning.

I hope that each of you will keep my Cousin Mark in your prayers. This is just the beginning of his walk with God. There will be many bumps and bruises along the way, but I know that the Holy Ghost will stregthen him. I pray that God will keep him, and make him something great. Who knows...Mark could become the greatest preacher of all time, he could be a missionary. Who knows? God Does.

Thank You Lord for all that you have been doing in my life, and in the lives of those around me. God, you never stop amazing me. You truly are my everything! I pray that I can be a witness and example in others lives, during this time of REVIVAL!!!!

He is Always There
We can't foresee the turning of the tide
When problems beset us and tears are cried.
Sometimes life deals from the bottom of the deck
Filling us with worry and leaving us a wreck.
The enemy seeks to devour and destroy,
Using deceptions to eliminate our joy.
While walking through the valley, our heads hung low,
The mountain top seems so high,
our footsteps slow.
How many times have we traveled this road
To battle the frustrations of troubles bestowed?
Yet when we come to our darkest hour
God demonstrates His infinite power.
It doesn't matter how bad things might seem,
He always comes through, our faith to redeem.
God will not fail us in our times of pain.
He'll never forsake us, by our side He'll remain.
So when we find ourselves at a total loss
Or when the valley seems too wide to cross,
Just remember you're in His love and care,
Look over your shoulder, He's always there!

Gingerbread House

Well, Tonight my Aunt and Mamaw came over to my mom's house for Cherish to decorate a gingerbread house. Well, of course Cherish didn't do much decorating just eating, so my mom, me, and my Aunt worked on decorating the house. So here are a few pictures. By the way, this was the first gingerbread house I have ever made. LOL!! I was very proud of my 20 year old self for being able to accomplish what a five year old can accomplish. LOL!!!! Hope you enjoy the pictures. Thought you would all like to see my mom and myself in action. I don't want anyone to ever say that I don't have patience ever again. This is VERY detailed work for me!!! =) For those of you who know me well, I can't sit still doing one thing for very long, well, I sat there decorating for about an hour. YAY!!!!! LOL!!
